Aitareya Upanishad
Poem eight on Aitareya Upanishad. I decided to explore the ten Principle Upanishads and extract the essence from them. Given that the Upanishads are themselves an extraction of the extraction of the essence of all knowledge combinedβ¦
In the Self’s dream, a cosmic play that flows.
From golden egg, the creation unfurls,
Brahman, the source, the source of all pearls.
The Self, eternal, beyond time and space,
The essence of all, the eternal grace.
From elements five, the body takes form,
A temporary abode, a fleeting norm.
Aitareya Upanishad, wisdom profound,
Revealing the truth, in silence, it’s found.
The Self, the eternal, the ultimate reality,
Unveiling the essence, with divine clarity.
This poem encapsulates the central teachings of the Aitareya Upanishad, which expounds on the creation of the world, the dream-like nature of existence, the Self as the eternal essence, and the transient nature of the body.
*Please note that poetry is a creative expression, and this poem is a concise summary, not a literal translation of the Upanishad. For a comprehensive understanding, it’s recommended to refer to authoritative translations by qualified scholars or spiritual teachers.
