Best exercise mat Ive ever used!

over 6 months of heavy use and basically still amazing~At first was hesistant because I expected a heavier mat than this, becuase that is a good indicator that its got a good grip and stability when placed, but even as lightweight as it is, it kicked it out of the park! This mat is amazing for all kinds of exercises. its thin and tough enough for standing positions, and soft enough when laying down for ab workouts. I use this a lot as a pushup pad as well, and most mats have me slipping on them but this one grips so well and soft, its barely an issue, giving me confidence in my crazy positions! Even when sweating a lot there is enough grip to not make me slip out. All other mats I have tried im always slipping at the first sign of humidity in my hands, and with this I got no problem at all. I havent even thought of using a towel on top of it, but only when I got to clean it. I like the texture and the touch of it too.it absorbs some sweat too though, but doesnt damage its performance, a but of its look over time and wear (over 6 months of heavy use and still looks great!), but thats mostly my fault for not trying to clean it everytime sometimes, time to work out is precious!Very much recommended!

    3 years and still strong

I got this mat back in March of 2020 and it has stuck with me through countless workouts and routines throughout the years. I have done workouts with and without shoes and I can say that it works great. My shoes did not tear up the mat even a little bit in all the years I’ve had it, and it’s perfectly comfortable to use it without shoes as well. I don’t feel any pain in my back when I’m doing sitting/laying workouts with this on top of a hard surface. I will say that it does move around a little bit during workouts but not too much and it’s definitely a very small thing compared to the good. I am now reordering a new one, and the only reason I am doing so is because despite loving this yoga mat, I just didn’t take very good care of it. It is now dirty beyond being able to be properly cleaned. I wouldn’t even know where to begin to start getting it clean again. For me, it’s just easier to buy a new one. If it wasn’t for that, I’m sure this one would have lasted me another 3 years at least.

    Excellent grip, but low comfort

This mat has an excellent grip. My shoes do not slide on the mat at all. It’s too soon to know for certain if it will be durable, but its material seems tough enough. It does stretch but doesn’t seem like it will tear when I do side splits (its grip stretches it when my feet push out).My one complaint about this mat is that it isn’t as comfortable as I’d like. Its material feels a bit rough against my skin and it’s thinner than I’d like. It doesn’t provide much cushioning against the hard floor. I may switch back to the thicker Gaiam mat I got before because of this, but I chalk that up to personal preference rather than product quality.

So much more comfy than I expected.

So, I’m not a yogi and didn’t know what to expect. My initial thoughts were: it looks kinda thin and I saw some reviews about slipping, which was concerning because I’m 6’2, chubby, and notoriously uncoordinated, but it was cute and affordable so I got it.My experience now is that: (1) its like *surprisingly* comfy, I mean its so thin, but its not hard when you lay it on the floor at all; (2) I haven’t had any issues with traction; and (3) it fits my tall chubby self just fine.THAT SAID, I should note the context of my usage: I’ve had it for like two weeks, use it every other day for about an hour, and I’ve used it exclusively indoors with AC. I don’t know how this mat may work under more strenuous use or if you were sweating a bunch while you were using it. I mean, I know hot yoga is a thing, but not for this gay. Thus, if you rely on this review, please know I’m basing off of this context.

Good mat! Firm texture, really nice color

I can’t compare to any others out there, but as a yoga novice doing it at home, I’ve found this mat great. I have the black and purple model and the purple is a really nice striking shade. The material is firm, not super thick but dense enough that the hard floor underneath doesn’t bother me. It has a good texture to it that keeps hands and feet from slipping even when you’re pressing them in opposite directions. I’ve had it for about a month now. If you get anything on it, it wipes down nicely. Mine has gained some minor scuffs from cats and errant shoes, but it hasn’t torn or anything. if you keep yours out of traffic better than me, you’ll be fine.

    Good mat

Have been using for a couple months and its held up well. The strap has had some issues but you can overcome that with a knot. It does arrive with an odor and needs to air out just a bit.

    Hands slip more

I like the material. It is more supportive and padded than my old mat. I wanted a padded mat but I learned from some reviews you don’t want a cushy mat for yoga. This is stable and supportive, but I do find myself reaching for a towel more often to keep my hands from sliding in down dog.

It isn’t non-slip enough for me

I returned the IUGA non-slip anti-tear yoga mat because I found it to be a bit more slippery than I expected. It is difficult to know if you will like a mat when shopping on-line. I relied on customer reviews but they vary widely, due to personal preferences. It is a nice looking, inexpensive mat.

Durable but the smell creeps me out

Pros:- Durability: The mat has proven to be durable over extended use, withstanding various workouts and routines without tearing or damage.- Versatility: Suitable for workouts with or without shoes, providing comfort and support in both scenarios.- Comfort: Provides adequate padding for sitting and lying workouts, reducing the risk of back pain on hard surfaces.- Easy to Clean: Easy to clean, making maintenance hassle-free.Cons:- Movement during Workouts: Tends to move slightly during workouts, requiring occasional adjustments for optimal positioning.- Odor: Initially emits a noticeable odor which may persist for a while.- Narrow Width- Slippage: Can be slippery, especially during initial use or when exposed to sweat, potentially affecting stability during certain poses or exercises.

It’s good for Hot Yoga, I don’t slip as much with this mat. But the smell is rough, especially when doing yoga poses where my face is on the mat.

    Pleasantly surprised

I’ve been on a mat buying splurge lately and many of them have been pricey! So, I was thinking that i might not like this mat very much and that it was just an average cheaper mat, but I actually like it a lot. It is non-slip without being sticky. Don’t know if that makes sense but it has a very nice, soft, almost velvety feel to the mat. I can easily adjust my feet without lifting them like you have to on a very sticky mat. My yoga practice is not very sweaty so I can’t comment on how it would be for hot yoga, but for regular hatha and vinyasa its great. It does state on the label that it is a closed cell construction, which means it won’t absorb sweat (similar to Manduka) so I assume it might get slippery. However, it should stay looking newer and cleaner compared to those mats that do suck up your sweat, such as Liform. I really love the softness of this mat, very cloud like, its 6mm thick so a bit thicker than average and the density is much softer than a Manduka but I think it gives more support than your basic $15 mat. I find it very comfortable on my knees ( I have hardwood floors so I need more cushion.) It feels great to do headstands on and if you have a more restorative/yin type practice it would be perfect. I didn’t notice any noxious smells, but I’m not sensitive to that. I think all mats smell rubbery at first. There was a white powdery residue that rubbed off during my first practice, so you might wipe it with a damp rag. I only wish it was wider!

The most comfortable mat I’ve ever used!

I needed to replace my aging yoga mat and wanted something thicker that would also be stable. I do pilates and HIIT workouts so it needs to be soft and non skid for when my hands get sweaty. I also wanted to find something that wasn’t filled with chemicals and was preferably PVC free and not super smelly.I have wrist and hand sensitivity and had purchased a thicker Amazon basic mat that just made me dump into my wrists – it actually made things worse. And it smelled terrible. Back to the drawing board.I read many reviews, looked at “non skid” mats and this one really caught my eye. “It’s made of SGS certified TPE material, No latex, no PVC.” Great start. And it had many positive reviews so I decided to try it.My conclusion is: BUY THIS MAT! It is incredibly comfortable, has no chemical odor, I have not slid, I’m not getting bruised. I love it, makes me look forward to my workouts.

    It sort of works

I’ve had this for a few months now and can give an honest review. I go to yoga 3x a week and do more so the sweat your ass off heated yoga classes. I wanted to love this mat but unfortunately I can’t. I slide, and when I drip sweat then it gets super slippery as it just stays wet. It’s a nice cushioning type of mat if that’s all you need, but if you plant to sweat, I’d look for something else

    Good support

I’m new to yoga. I bought this bc the mat I had around at home was pretty slippery and had no grip on the floor, so I kept slipping around. This may is thinner than I thought it was going to be, but still very comfortable. I didn’t slip despite sweating a lot on my hands; there was no stretch or shifting around either. Weird smell, but I hear that’s common for new mats and should dissipate after a few days. Overall, good mat, it was exactly what I was looking for.My qualms :1) The strap provided is basically a long shoelace looped at the ends lol. It works fine, but I was hoping for a proper strap that I could double up as a yoga strap during practice too. To be fair, no strap is pictured in the product so I shouldn’t have expected one, anyways.2) I attached a photo, but the texture on my mat isn’t aligned with the edges, which doesn’t necessarily hinder the function but is just annoying. I was hoping to use the lines as a reference to correctly align myself, too.

    Not the Mat I Needed

As a yoga instructor, I am always looking for a better mat and this one wasn’t it. It is very lightweight and more like foam than an actual sticky mat should be. It doesn’t have any flaws that make it defective, but it didn’t offer the grip, support, or cushion that I was looking for.

    Perfect for hot yoga

I recently got into hot yoga and heard that TPE mats were much more ideal than your typical basic PVC sticky mat. So, I found this one and I absolutely love it! It lays flat, rolls up nicely and has the right amount of grip and thickness. It wipes down well and doesn’t hold any smell/sweat. It’s lightweight and comes with a simply carrying lace. (It’s not fancy but it totally works). Fun color combinations – I got the purple/pink combo and it’s a very modest shade of both. So, you don’t feel like you’re blinding the rest of your fellow Yogis. 🙂 I would absolutely recommend this if you’re a beginner-Intermediate yoga participant. It will serve its purpose well. I’ve only been using it for just over a month so I can’t claim on its dull durability yet. But, so far so good.

Hallelujah! Doesn’t shift on hardwood floors!

I was previously using a mat that shifted / slid really easily on my hardwood floors. It was getting to a point where it was quite dangerous (It would shift out from under me and I’d tweak my shoulder during down dog etc.) I specifically bought this mat in the hopes that it would stay put, and it has done exactly that! You can do quick movements, jumping jacks, yoga poses, etc. and it “adheres” to the floor perfectly. I also love the color of the light blue. Also make sure to follow the instructions to roll it the right way so the edges don’t curl when you unroll it. The material is quite nice as well. A slight odor when opening, but not too bad! Already dissipating quickly.

Nice mat: long, slip-resistance, padded, but surface pattern may affect your eyes

I liked this mat’s length and its thickness was just right for my yoga class exercises. Surface is very slip resistant but its surface pattern (chevron pattern with tire treads) is causing problems with my eye sight when viewing it at closer ranges (2D goes to 3D), which made me nauseated. Off-gassing is strong and lingers but if these are not issues for you, this yoga mat is otherwise excellent.

    Love this mat!

Have had this mat for about 2 years now and although it is worn a bit beat up, it still is holding up fairly well. My biggest complaint is that it curled up in the sun. Not sure if materials have been changed but the new one I bought for my GF recently also curled In the sun but not quite as bad.

    Perfect for every yogi

I set my standards high for yoga mats because I’m training in India soon to be a yoga teacher, so I wanted one that would be soft, durable, non toxic, and eco friendly, and this mat met all of my standards! Plus the color is so beautiful, I got the light blue/navy one and I love that it has two colors on either side. This yoga mat is very soft and has a nice amount of cushion too. When I got it I noticed a smell but they say all you have to do is wash it off and let it air out for a couple days, so I gave it a rinse and then by day 3 the smell was gone. This mat is worth every penny!

Very nice mat for the price

Overall, I think this mat is great: very attractive raised motif on the surface; nice color selections; and very light weight. I use it on top of my living room carpeting when laying down to exercise (not yoga exercises). I bought this brand from Amazon to replace another Amazon brand mat, that upon delivery, was very smelly – just couldn’t use it because the off gassing caused a burning sensation in my nasal passages, eyes and nose. This mat has some odor but definitely does not produce any discomfort for me.

    Great mat, would recommend!

I’ve been using the IUGA yoga mat for a couple weeks now and really like it! I’m a new yogi and have been working on my posture and strength so I haven’t gotten super sweaty while using it, but so far I haven’t slipped while using it. Sometimes my hands slide a touch but I just readjust and it’s fine. The ends curl under a little after storing but it flattens out after a couple minutes. In regards to any “smell” mine wasn’t too bad after I took it out of the package. I just let it lay out for a day and whiped it down with a damp rag like they said to. I’d definitely recommend the mat to others!

    My favorite mat so far

I’m a beginner at yoga, but I’ve tried a couple other mats in the past, from much thinner to even thicker. This one seems like the perfect thickness for my baby knees on my hard floors. It doesn’t pull or slip as I transition between poses, and I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now and see no sign of tearing. It’s supportive but firm, so it doesn’t interfere with my balance. This mat doesn’t have the pool toy-like smell I’ve experienced with other mats, and the carrying bag is a really nice addition, since I sometimes travel with it. I got the grey/blue color and I really like it–the color is true to the image.Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase, especially for the price.

Ok for beginners, but not for hot yoga. Try their rubber mat for hit yoga!!

I got this mat based on the positive reviews for use in hot yoga but unfortunately it did not meet my needs. I slipped everytime used it.I have updated this review to 4 starts based on the customer swevice I received. They were very insistent on my happiness and sent me a new rubber yiga mat which I love! The mat is great for hot yoga and doesnt have a heavy runber smell like others. I highly recommend the rubber mat for all yoga needs but hot sweaty yoga especially! Thanks again!

Great mat, no slip or slide

I am delighted with my mat.Ive been using it for around 3 weeks now.I find it is thick enough so that my back is not sore in supine positions and my knees are well cusioned when on them.I have had no issues with slipping as yet.My previous mat was thinner and lasted only 12 mths before rubbing and wearing away, which made it slippy- it was from a well know highstreet catalogue store.I am very sensitive to any plastic type odors,And this mat works great as described. No foul smells whatsoever.Im hopefull it will stand the test of time. I’m very happy with this mat and have no doubt recommending it to others.

Good enough for yoga, but doesn’t look like it is the greatest quality. I don’t want to spend $100 on a yoga mat so this is perfect for me and people looking to save a buck. It’s soft a does not slide or more so it gets the job done.

Just as described – excellent mat!

These yoga mats are great. I bought two in different colors – one for myself and one for my husband. Just as described, there is no odor at all, which is a common issue with a lot of mats due to the type of material commonly used. I really like the texture of the mat. I have used it on both low-pile carpet and hardwood without issues of slipping. The thickness and softness of the mat are just right. I use the mat for yoga, pilates, and tai chi so I’m doing a mix of standing, balancing, laying, sitting, etc and the mat is perfect for all aspects of my practice.

I’ve had this mat for about two weeks now, I’ve taken it to a couple of yoga classes and it’s starting to rip even though I use a yoga mat towel on top. The material isn’t the best, I find that I slip and it heats up easily. Not the best mat for consistent use.

    Comfortable

I admit, when i first saw this mat, I wondered if it would really be comfortable on my knees when i got down on it. I bought it quite a while now and just started using it this week. I have so far used it twice and find it more comfortable than the two mats i had previously and have been using stacked on top of each other. When I kneel the pressure on my knees and wrists while exercising sometimes gets a bit too uncomfortable for the amount of padding i thought i had, but with this mat I have seen the difference. I used this mat without additional padding and did not feel any discomfort while kneeling or doing my planks so far and that’s a big plus for me. It also appears that it won’t get damaged too quickly if I have my sneakers on while doing some rotations. And i love the color of the mat as well. Glad i got it.

I don’t stick or slip on it which is a plus. Decent thickness but have only used on carpeted floors so far. Had a it a few weeks now and still can’t get the ends to stop curling even though I’ve tried weighting it down, annoying but not a deal breaker. Agree with others that the chemical smell is taking a while to subside but it’s not overpowering. Fairly easy to clean , so a good purchase overall
